The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent05-01

Welcome back to Seina, in the north of Cattala. Since we last visited Seina, I’ve rebuilt the village and it’s completely changed. The medical centre is the most westerly building, with the village shops now located in one main building, opposite the café. I'm much happier with it this way. Smile

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent05-02

Now we’re going to look at the expansion of the village further south, using inspiration from Darmok’s Anduin Valley Revisited, which is in the Simtropolis Hall of Fame. Sadly we've arrived in the middle of a rain shower, which is expected to last until the New Year. Luckily it's not going to travel south into Celeste or Jennai to affect the New Years celebrations.

After some re-zoning and street construction, along with the demolition of the plazas, commercial premises are finally growing in Seina.

To end with, an overview of Seina as a whole. I hope you enjoyed this update, I hope to get more of Seina completed soon!

Oh MY! I love how realistic this is, I can just picture that little village in some real area of the world. Also normally I hate showing/ hate when people show zoned areas, but somehow I really enjoy seeing how you zoned everything. As a suggestion though I would like to see the village without the rain Wink

Good Work Thumbs Up

Thank you Mayorm! I'm glad you find it realistic, I try to make it as close to a Mediterranean village as possible. The zoning idea is based on Darmok's Anduin Valley Revisited, which I really liked reading last year. It's only Seina that I will do this in though, I also dislike seeing and producing unzoned areas. Smile

And in the New Year the rain shower is expected to move north - in RL it's raining over Seina's location. santa
Merry Christmas!

It's been a while since we visited Brunswick, and now we're moving into the central villages of the area. Unlike Seina in the north, Brunswick is in the middle of the sunniest winters on record, but some cold weather is expected to move in this weekend.

Tonight Cattala will be lit up in a 15-minute display that is set to dazzle the world. Officials have spent over £10 million on the celebrations this year, and every town and city is taking part. Here's a preview of what's expected this evening.

It was £10 million for the entire island, which is only three times as much as they spent on Sydney alone this year. Smile

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent06-01

Welcome back to Seina, in the heart of Cattala. The rain and fog has finally lifted, and it’s warming up again in Seina.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent06-02

Today we’ll be looking at development along the green strip of land there.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent06-03

Development was first completed on a new petrol station for the community. It serves the B415, which is a link road to the A1 and M4.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent06-04

The second and most important part of the construction was the new village station. It was connected to a small line that diverts off of the main Central Line.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent06-05

A small housing development was build north of the station.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent06-06

Behind some of the homes was a new parking area for village residents and commuters.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent06-07

To the far north of the village, a Jennai-based property developer bought up a large area of land. So far, the villagers have seen very little work going on.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent06-08

To end with today, an overview of Seina.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent06-09

Now it’s time for you to decide where we build next in Seina. So post your replies and say either A, B, C, D or E!

Very nice update,it seems as though siena is moving out of its rural lifestyle and developing into a small city.

As to the voting I honestly can't decide where you should build next. Maybe area D I guess.

Also I have two questionson your railroad: 1. Where can I download that one track railroad? and 2. Is that a busy commuter line? Because if so it wouldn't have one track.

Thank you for commenting mayorm, I'm glad you enjoyed the update, and thank you for voting.

The Single Track Railway is on the LEX: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1996
And it's a spur, that branches off from the Central Line. Only trains that serve Seina use this line, and obviously it's quite a rural line that isn't overcapacity.

Welcome back to Seina, in the heart of Cattala. Sunny conditions continue to shine over the province, and now the voting results are in! Now it’s time to see where we’re building today…

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent07-03

Is B! As you can see, construction has commenced and in the southern part of the new expansion, construction is finished.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent07-04

Work has been slow on the new land to the north, with only a handful of diggers and workmen on site most days. Work has ground to a halt for unknown reasons recently.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent07-05

In the centre of the village, some small homes were bought up by developers and replaced with in-demand luxury apartments. Here you can see work is on going near the high street.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent07-06

Now a look at the new district, which features the town’s first water storage tower. Water used to be pumped in from Calora, and now water can be collected in the village itself.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent07-07

Here we see the eastern part of the development, which boasts new local shops alongside the busy High Street that goes through the centre of the village.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent07-08

With all the construction projects occurring, a small industrial site was built near the Miatona land, and much of the local logs and building materials now come from this site.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent07-09

Now we see an overview of the unconstructed part of the new district – what do you suggest we build here?

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Seina-ent07-10

To end with, an overview of the rapidly-expanding Seina village.

Welcome back to Calora, where today we will be looking at a region in the far south of the city that I rebuilt recently. Vecchio is the old town of Calora, but despite this is home to many modern, high tech industrial facilities.

The centre of Vecchio boasts a park that has three fountains, all linked to the canal system surrounding Vecchio. During summer months the fountains are turned off during the siesta.

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Calora-ent08-07

The United Kingdom of Cattala - Page 4 Calora-ent08-08

Here we see the development of classic Vecchio apartments, which overlook the Fiume Calora. In recent years, specialist firms have been hired to improve the flow of air through the dense areas, with limited success.

This is yet another round of great villiages. Nice work!

Do you have any bigger "villiages"? I think that putting your development style into larger towns would make great cities, in my opinion. You really have a unique development style with your cities. Smile It isn't something that most people get to see every day.

Very nice updates as usual. I'm happy to see siena getting bigger, and better. And Calora looks like it has a nice mix of rural and urban developement. Keep up the good work. Very Happy

Blakesterville: Thanks for commenting! Actually Calora is the second-biggest city in Cattala, and is home to 300,000 people. This part of the city isn't completely rebuilt yet, so I haven't shown you an overview of how dense it actually is. And thank you for the compliment, I'm glad you like my style. Smile

mayorm: Thanks! Seina is going to keep on growing, although when it's reasonably big I might stop and re-look at some areas. And yep, Calora has quite a variety of densities - it's a mainly suburban city and only the CBD is modern and highly developed. Smile
