Update 22- Road Trip Day 1:Today we will start our road trip in the outskirts of the metro area, in a small farm community of Crawville that is home to about 100 people. Our route is marked by a green arrow/line on the road to show where we are going.
We pull out of the driveway of a bed and breakfast and head over to grab a bite to eat at the local Tim Horton's, after getting a nice breakfast we head west on Rt. 34.
Within a minute we are out into the countryside, we are heading east toward the more developed parts of the metro area.
As you can see Rt. 34 carries a lot of traffic, unfortunately no major interstates have been built near this area. Soon we find ourselves at our first intersection, and we blow by it at 40mph.
We keep heading east on Rt. 34 and soon enter the city limits of Apple Grove, another farming community but much larger than Crawville.
We see and end to the farms for a little bit as Rt. 34 enters the town of Apple Grove, we come to an intersection with Apple Drive, we turn left continueing east on Rt. 34 and head through the neighborhoods of the town.
We come to another intersection and turn right continueing east on Rt. 34, as we head into the small of downtown Apple Grove.
We pass through downtown Apple Grove continueing east on Rt. 34, and soon pass through the whole town, and head back into the country side.
Not soon after we pass through the town, Rt. 34 comes to an end. We turn left onto Fairground Rd. and head south, heading for Rt. 202.
We come to Rt. 202 and turn right onto the on ramp
Rt. 202 soon takes into one of the many industrial areas that surround modern day New Chatham
And traveling east on Rt. 202 we soon find ourselves within the bustling areas of the Quad Cities, as we race through the suburbs of New Chatham.
We soon start to see many interesting sights, as well as signs for I-27. We take the exit for I-27 North, unfortunatley it is nearing 5:00pm and the Quad Cities Rush hour traffic is terrible and would hold us up for hours.
We take the first exit, after getting onto I-27, for Caremvall Rd. We are in the suburb of Winston which is a very safe area, and with the time being 4:40pm I decide to hold us up here for the night. Luckily we spot a Hampton Inn which is conveintly located across from a police station making our 1 night stay safer.
Comments/ Criticism is welcome
Also note that the next portion of the drive will not be as long as this one was
