The filecave is back (again), with the SMFC 2.2. The primary goal was to update the look to make it more consistent with SM3, but we've made some other changes as well. Here is the full list of changes:
* In response to some user suggestions after SM3, we've added a fresh "coat of paint" and logo. The new look is much cleaner, and also looks much more like the forums. Be sure to thank Simlink for his work and creativity, as he has done the bulk of the work on the new theme edits and logo.
* Due to the inconvenience of registering separately for the filecave, we're making it easier to use the filecave without registration. Files can now be downloaded, rated, and even commented on, all without registration. Registration is still required to upload, and we recommend it for all of our filecave users, but now it will feel more integrated.
* The download counter now works again. (We apologize to anyone who thought their uploads weren't being downloaded.
For quite a while there was a module incompatibility issue that kept the download counter from incrementing at each download. We've changed some of the technology used to transfer downloads, and thus have fixed those issues. )
If you notice any bugs, please let us know here. Most of the testing has been done using Firefox, so we aren't entirely sure how well it works in other browsers. If you notice any bugs, graphical glitches, missing features, or anything else, please let us know.
Regarding the password resets: Many users have reported that the password reset link does not work. We are still working to resolve this issue. Currently, cron ( a maintainance task mangement system on the server) has to be run manually, and we still aren't sure if emails are sent on each cron run, or if they are sent automatically. If you have not received an email for the password reset for more than a day, please PM either Simlink or myself, and we will gladly reset it for you.
