Hello Simmania,

Due to recent issues with spambots and spam the Filecave is offline until further notice. We're working hard to clean up the spam, but it's a time consuming process. In addition before we bring it back online we want to make sure we have new anti-spam measures in place so we don't have to deal with this again.

We thank you for your patience and we'll keep you updated as to the return of the filecave.

I was recently informed that the filecave uploader asked a user to select a category, but no categories would show in the list, causing the uploader not to work. The issue was due to a bad module, and has been fixed. I apologize for the inconvenience.

A lot of you have said you discovered Simmania from word of mouth through the large fansite, Simtropolis. You all probably know about the Trixie awards they have there, and I think we should give a congratulations to some of our Simmania members that were recognized there.

It is now possible to see who is logged into our chat without logging in. It's a feature that has been requested many times, and I finally got the code to work. It's very primitive, and I'm still working on making it look nicer and integrate well, but it works.

The filecave is back (again), with the SMFC 2.2. The primary goal was to update the look to make it more consistent with SM3, but we've made some other changes as well. Here is the full list of changes:

* In response to some user suggestions after SM3, we've added a fresh "coat of paint" and logo. The new look is much cleaner, and also looks much more like the forums. Be sure to thank Simlink for his work and creativity, as he has done the bulk of the work on the new theme edits and logo.

With SM3, the forum software conversion left a whole lot of whitespace in the posts. This is due to several things, including the line-height of profiles fields, large user avatars, and the way that signatures are displayed. The line height issue has been fixed, but we are still working on the signatures.

However, due to the considerably different layout of the posts, the avatar restrictions will be changed soon in order to help reduce the post whitespace. The new limit (which will take place mid-March) will be 150x150 pixels
