Whitewater is a territory of the nation of Durham situated on the northeast portion of the Durham continent. The region was founded on May 14, 2012. It follows a combination of both planned and natural growth and uses a combination of plopping and growing.

The Whitewater website containing the archives (updates 1-24) will be available there shortly. We'll start the new thread with Update 25.

The regional police collected tons of evidence to attempt to trace down the suspected invaders. Meanwhile in the southern portion of the region, controversy was beginning to flare up on the south side of the region - and another murder occured, this time in the quaint town of Branch Island.

By now all of this was making national headlines. Newspapers as far away as the capital of Durham were reporting the corruption occurring in both the government and the murders, as well as the nuclear power plant fire. Immediately the regional police were ordered to raid the building and place it on lockdown. John Lancaster was asked to visit the regional police building to obtain information.



There, the police showed him a surveillance tape from a small shop on Branch Island where the murder there took place, and a surveillance tape around the same time that he asked the District Manager who they were.

The next day, while everyone was on leave due to the lockdown, the Goldspire council had its own task of sorting out the invaders of the nuclear power plant. It would be likely that the regional police wouldn't finish their investigation until next week. By the end of the day, they still had not concluded their search and compare all evidence with that of whicht hey had collected from previous murders.

Early next morning at about 4 AM the district manager and Goldspire council leader were called to an emergency meeting in the newly built Newcastle Square. An office in the top floor was given to them for two hours for free.


"So, the reason we've called this meeting is to discuss what we should do with this nuclear power plant", the district manager began.
"Provided it fails safety inspections, we can decomission it. It won't however. It was caused by invaders." replied David Lawrence, the Goldspire council leaders.
"It will likely fail safety inspections if it caught fire only a week after its construction! And not to mention the fact that it was built without consultation? What's behind that?"
"Why would it need consultation to begin with? And why even inspect it? Can't you just declare it unsafe without an inspection?"
"But, don't you remember that only the ministry of public safety can declare something unsafe without an inspection?"
"True. But let's not go there"
"Yeah, let's not go there and have it blow up and kill everyone in the region. Great idea! I'm sure the Goldspire council isn't carrying out their own inspection right now as you should have ordered. We WILL be getting the ministry of public safety involved. If it fails their inspection, we'll have that thing destroyed and have the council fined a hefty amount for putting lives in danger. Maybe you and the rest of the council can be put in jail."
"Why?"
"You must be nuts to even think about justifying your actions. It's a scheme for money. Any good politican would know that. Don't try to fool me, David."
"But that's politics, sir."
"So, you excuse it as just being "politics?" Our council isn't perfect. But make no mistake, we do try our very hardest to prevent and eliminate corruption. Besides that, where are you getting that there were invaders in the building?"
"First of all, I could care less about what the public thinks. Second, I get that from the fact that we carried out our own inspection immediately before placing the plant in operation."
"And let me believe that it actually passed, while I'm at it. The scum of this earth, like you."
"Well, I'm sorry sir. If you want, we'll have the regional council carry out an inspection."
"No. That won't be necessary. We will handle the problem with the regional building invasions and after that, we'll make sure that the ministry of public safety sees this abomination and we'll make sure that you and your council are removed from office, and that you get good jail time for negligence. I'm done here. Good day."

The district manager took a look at the same evidence that John Lancaster looked at the previous night. So now there were two scandals erupting.....

....Or were there actually two?

"This power plant meets none of the established safety rules. It is near a very steep drop into a lake. And this drop has no retaining walls. The foundation isn't deep enough either, so this land could crumble and cause the building to crash down into the lake. Its fire services do not meet the set requirements - every nuclear power plant must have a landing strip within one kilometre. It has a very poor cooling system which has been compromised by the recent fire. Mr Lawrence, I'm afraid this building will have to be decommissioned and destroyed."

"What about nuclear waste?"

"We'll handle it like any nuclear waste. We will encase it in several layers of stainless steel and synthetic granite deep underground."

And thus ended the saga of the nuclear power plant. Shortly after inspectors left, many people began protesting outside of the nuclear plant and town hall.



It wasn't until later that evening when the crowds were informed of its scheduled destruction that the crowds dispersed.

So where, and what, is Hollowhaven, the town housing the power plant? It is a sleepy farming community outside of Goldspire, about 15 kilometres east.



The two lane road you see is the only road going out of Whitewater. It is still under construction. When finished, it will be a 450 mile remote road with its terminus in the nearest large city.

Not far from the interchange, there's a rickety gravel road. This road is about a kilometre long and leads to the power plant.




"Mr Lancaster and Mr Brown (the district manager), we have finished collecting all the evidence we can from the regional headquarters building. We do not have sufficient grounds of illegal activity from the Goldspire council Mr Brown, so unfortunately, we cannot carry out a corruption investigation."

"But the power plant is just a money scheme. Mr Lawrence, head of the Goldspire council told me."

"Directly, or indirectly?"

"Umm.... indirectly?"

"Then we would have to interview him. We have enough on our plate right now. Maybe when this is all said and done, we might carry out a corruption investigation."

The district manager went back to his North Goldspire home, a very large, elegant estate. How can they not see illegal activities? What could he do to prevent further corruption?

He hatched an idea.

He immediately went back to Newcastle Square. Secretly.
