In this update we're going to see the new research and assembly center of Insulo's space ageny (ISPERA), South Shore Military Base. It is located on the southeast corner of the Island in one of the least populated areas in the entire country. There are no launch pads due to Insulo's high latitude, all missions will be launched from a launch pad in Gansbaai.

The road to the center base is currently being rebuilt where it was washed out by an intense rainstorm.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) U2_1

Speaking of storms, as reach the gate to the base the sky is beginning to cloud up.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) U2_2

The rain begins as we see the assembly warehouses where rockets, satellites, and landers will be built.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) U2_3

The rain has become a downpour and begun to mix with sleet as we look at the docks including the patrol boats that protect ships that dock at the base.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) U2_4

The storm finally dies down as we look at the mission control center.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) U2_5

And last but not least as the rain stops, we see the research facility where scientists are currently planning Insulo's first space mission.

Hope you enjoyed this update, next week, unless change my mind, we will explore the city of Scio, home to Vilhelmo Forgisto University and the COFR Ministry of Health, Safety, and Education.

Hello Everyone, finally a complete update, this one I've been teasing for a while, my first update on my very lose re-creation of the Island of La Palma, which I'm really having fun with, it let's me do something different than I usually do, and gives me a lot of creative mobility. This doesn't mean Insulo is dead, this is still part of Insulo, and we'll get back to the mainland eventually, better to spend winter in the tropics anyway Smile .

So, for this first view of La Palma we'll explore the area around the little town of Las Mariposas, wedged between beautiful beaches and the towering volcano that produced their glimmering black sand.

We'll start High on the mountainside, in one of the numerous nature preserves on the La Palma. The island supports a vast variety of Flora, some of that variety can be seen here.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Lapalma1

We follow the road down the hillside, and to the entrance to the preserve, where a small picnic area for the people who come to see the natural wealth of the Island.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Lapalma3

Now we move on to the pleasant little town most visitors to the park use as a home base, Las Mariposas. They take advantage of the many rooms rented out by local families, where they can get homey comforts and a low price.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Lapalma7

As you can see, the town has it's own charms, it's been here for hundreds of years nearly unchanged, the whole town is protected as a historic site, especially guarded is it's church, built in the year 1523.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Lapalma9

Oh, we almost forgot the best part of Las Mariposas, it is close to one of the best most pristine and beautiful beaches you will find anywhere, with it's black sand sparkling in the tropical sun.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Lapalma52

Well that's all for now, hope you enjoyed this little tour, I enjoyed making it.

To view this Newspaper properly you need a real browser, Like Opera or Firefox. I recommend Opera 11, click here to get it. I may be using this image format in the future in my CJ as well, as it is much more versatile than .GIF.

Welcome the city of Alcelago on the eastern border of Insulo with Posillpo, a portion of the city is actually in Posillipo. This is an interesting city, in 1934 a massive earthquake destroyed every building in the city except the tiny chapel now in the center of the Main Street Plaza, and drained Alcelago's namesake lake. The city was rebuilt in the style of the time with large parkways to allow for easy walking and space for events.. The city is the former capital of Republic of Bascla, which joined Insulo after the earthquake devastated the country. Bascla is currently seeking representation as a separate province from Los Lagos.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Alcelago1
An overview of the center of Alcelago, with the rebuilt Basclan Capital Building at the top and the Survival Chapel at the intersection near the bottom.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Alcelago4

The newest buildings in Alcelago glisten in the sun. From left to right you see the Atlantica Financial Branch, the Ramos and Sons Architectural Firm, the Sunspire Hotel, and at the bottom right the top of the new TeleInsulo Headquarter, which moved to Alcelago in July 2010. On the far left you can see the Villate Real Hotel, one of the most renowned hotels in all of Insulo.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Alcelago3

The Capital subway station and the Border arch that stands between Insulo and Posillipo. The border between Insulo and Posillipo is a completely open border.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Alcelago2

A stretch of gravel mountain road outside of Alcelago, drivers have to be careful here as there is a chance of falling rocks.

Hope you enjoyed this update, it was again something I hadn't really tried before with the mountain but I think it came out great, I like working in this region as much if not more than in La Palma, so you're likely to see a few updates at least from here.

In this update we are again visiting the border city of Alcelago, which straddles the border between Insulo and Posillipo. All the areas showm in this update are inside Insulo.

(Note: Just to point out, I do have Chip's Permission to display parts of Posillipo I have created)

...Yaaaaaawn... Time to wake up. Wow it's foggy outside, I can barely see the dried pond from my cabin windows.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) Alcelago5

Well that fog lifted quckly, it's now a bright monday morning, here you can see an overview of the area we'll be exploring today.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) Alcelago6

*Eating Sounds* Mmmm, Nothing beats the breakfast burrito at Winnie's Drive-In, the Drive-In is famous for good food delivered quickly, and is a popular hangout for the students from the High School just down the street.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) Alcelago7

Here you see the Library of Bascla and the First Basclan Bank, with a newer quaint shopping district in the background. The first Basclan Bank was one of the first buildings rebuilt after the earthquake, and helped finance much of the relief effort by the charity of it's founder F.K. Morgani.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) Alcelago8

Alcelago General Hosptital Towers over it's surroundings. Built in 1963, it is still one of the largest Hospitals in Insulo, and people come from all over the country to visit it's Cardiac Specialists.
Republic of Insulo (USNW) Alcelago9

Finally we see the fuel behind all the small shops and restaurants in this area, Alcelago Central High School, the largest High School in Alcelago.

As always, I hope you enjoyed this update. If you have any questions feel free to ask them, and comments are much appreciated.

I felt like starting up a little story in my CJ, centering around an event and using the news to communicate the story, along with a bit of description by me of course. Hope you like it. This first section won't have much commentary because it's essentially an introduction, plus a picture is worth a thousand words.

This Afternoon Insulonians were watching their favorite TV shows when this popped on the screen.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Shipfirenews

For Clarification Purposes, Andalusia is a country south of a group of Islands owned by Insulo, and a former possession of Insulo.

Then just minutes later President Clarke, clearly enraged by the "attack" held an impromptu press conference about the incident.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Shipfirenews2

Then about half an hour later they were stunned when this news broke.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Shipfirenews3

To be continued.....

No nonsense update this time:

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Shipfirenews6

This morning the doctors at the military hospital in San Sebastian held a press conference to discuss the dead and injured in the attack on the BNI Hidalgo.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Shipfirenews4

Later in the day more stunning news surfaced, and people began to think they were at war...

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Shipfirenews5

...then they finally had someone to blame...

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Shipfirenews7

...And now they are truly at war.

More Coming Soon...

Hoped you liked this, and again the minimal text is on purpose, you'll get a huge debrief later in case you missed anything. Also I hope to keep up the rapid updates (compared to my normal posting patterns. We'll also explore Paxí as a normal cj update eventually.

Yes there is a typo in the last image, sorry, but it happens in the real news sometimes, so I guess I'll just leave it.

Well we're taking a break from the media barrage for an update on the town of Paxí on a small island in the far south of Maresa near the Andalusian sea border. I worked really hard on this relatively small town, so I hope you like it.

Although it is in prime location for a tourist mecca, Paxí has managed to retain it's small town charm through extremely restrictive zoning laws that essentially prohibit all new growth, which has kept the town true to the form of the town that have occupied these islands for as long as anyone can remember.

We start with a glimpse of Paxí pristine beaches, rarely traversed by the sandal-clad feet of tourists.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Paxi6

More of the beaches glistening in the warm sun.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Paxi5

You can only wish you lived here, most of the towns residents wouldn't sell these homes for their lives.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Paxi4

The town center with the mission built in 1298 to convert the citizens of these islands to Christianity. Services are no longer held inside the building, and are instead held outside in the square until the parish can gather enough funds to build a new church.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Paxi3

Another square and the town football pitch, where citizens enjoy their favorite pastime, other than sitting on the beach and watching the sunset of course.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Paxi2

A winery just outside of town, with a villa building that was built in 1566. The land has been in use for wine making for longer than any other parcel of land in Insulo.

Republic of Insulo (USNW) Paxi1

Now here's something I've never done before, but I think it turned out quite well. Mosaic!

What a nice little town, I do believe a new church is needed though. And you also have a great mosaic there.

Also a comment on your last update: I love the work you are doing with the news updates. Also if Insulo needs some help in war the Quad Cities is ready Wink
