*please keep this in its own thread, please.*
In a breezy but clear night in Downtown Rockaway, New Chandler, the second inauguration of the SIBF World Cup is set to begin, at Hollister Insurance Stadium, the largest baseball stadium in the country. For those who do not know, the SIBF is the governing body of national baseball teams in the Simworld. It is mostly on "quiet" sites, especially Simmania and Simsoprts, however, it has attracted 20 countries in a year.
The Opening Ceremony is starting now; a bright array of lasers and colored lights flicker from the center of the stadium, where the logo of the SIBF World Cup is painted on the field.
The chairman of the SIBF will now make a statement at the middle of the field.
Now, the sixteen countries competing in the World Cup will walk around the track of the stadium in the Parade of Nations!
Then, a musical performance by Enrique Iglesias...
Finally, some fireworks!
*****STADIUMS*****
Hollister Insurance Stadium. With a capacity of 45,000, it will hold normal group play, a game in the round of eight, the championship game, and the ceremonies (like the one above). It's located in the heart of Downtown Rockaway.
River Theed Baseball Park. With a capacity of 27,500, it will hold normal group play, and a game in the round of eight. It is about two miles away from Downtown Rockaway, and it very close to the River Theed, visible on the left edge of the picture. (I really screwed up on the photo editing on this one)
Mulholland Park. With a capacity of 21,000, it is the smallest stadium used in the World Cup. It will hold normal group play, and a game in the round of eight. It is located in the wealthy Mulholland District twelve miles due north of Downtown Rockaway and ten south of Downtown Damascus off of the Angel Freeway, between the freeway and iconic Rockaway Casciato Studios, the Hollywood of New Chandler.
Capitol Field. With a capacity of 30,000, it will hold normal group play, a game in the round of eight, and the third place game. It is located near the Hollister capitol building (it is a provincial capital) about 8 miles south of Downtown Rockaway and 3 miles north of the swanky Wharf City area.
Schedule will be posted this weekend. The tournament itself will start either Sunday or Monday.
