Wow Skimbo, I don't think anyone could get into the cab in the US

On my trip to Ohio this summer I stopped in Cinncinatti's Union Station and went up to what is called Tower A, an old dispatch tower for the Station which happens to overlook the frieght yard next to the station. Now it is a railfan location, so here are some samples of what I took.

wow I love the first one, and yes some of my pictures from that part of the trip are blurred because I was sometimes watching things unfold in the yard and not paying attention to my picture quality

To keep this thread alive, some pictures of Nürnberg Central station, All trains are owned by DB (Deutsche Bahn)


DB 111-217 Series 111 has originally been buildt as express train locomotives.



X wagen have been the base of the sucess of many S-Bahn systems in germany, but they are ageing as well.



DB 143-621 Series 143 is an ex-DDR loco series.



DB 143-624





DB 403-835 Series 403 is better known under it's name ICE3 or as Siemens Velaro. Allowed top speed in regular service is 330kph (~206 mph) but they normally do not go faster than 280 to 300.

@111222333444: I rode it from Vienna to Nürnberg and back. Both nice 5 hrs journeys. Due to Austria's Westbahn being a single big constructon yard at the moment the service got only randomly aboth 110 mp/h

Skimbo, I've seen people making a lot of money out of pictures that aren't as good as these.

Pity I don't have the time to go railfanning, there are some great spots across North Texas that have some pretty sweet trains

This weekend I was on two small railfanning destinations along the route to our holoiday home in northern lower Austria.

The first spot was Heidenreichstein station, nostalgic use only.





The second one was Göpfritz, located along a railline I've already shown many ppictures of in here.



Yesterday evenng I took some pictures next to my hometown.....







The following spot has two disadvantages: First: it's located right in between a motorway and a railline, Second: you have to take care about golfballs coming from the opposite side of the railline xD LINK







I also want to continue my series of germany-pictures, the next location of my first daytrip was the huge railbridge over River Rednitz at Fürth.

Right at the beginning, this formation gave me hope for something special.....

great pictures skimbo, I love seeing them. The are quite unique, in the US we don't have electric rail, except for some Amtrak lines in the east

To keep this thread alive: Some more pictures of my first railfanning day at Nürnberg-Fürth.

Not far away from the "big bridge" the three rail lines split. One goes north, direction Leipzig, Erlangen. Another one goes west, direction Frankfurt/Köln.....

ICE3 and alota green



... the third line is a regional line to the small city Cadolzbourg, many nice DMU pictures there....



I actually followed the second one for a few kilometers and arrived at Fürth-Unterführberg station.

SBB Cargo 482-031 carries "some" cars towards west.



And DB 401-817 speeds through the station right after it.
