With the upcoming SC2013, it is time to say goodby to the traditional zoning system that has been with Simcity for over a decade. Zoning is now free, instead of costing a fee per tile. In addition, no longer are there different density classifications for zones. The density for development is determined by demand, and by the street connected to the zone. (a low density street will only have low density development, etc...)

Personally, I will miss the traditional zoning system, but I think that it is an interesting change from previous versions of the game. What are your thoughts?

I'll miss being able to control exactly what size building would form, but honestly I think that's probably secondary. It works far more smoothly in the new game.

I'm honestly quite glad that they are changing things in the new game. There is really no point in spending money for what's basically a remake of SC4. I just hope that some of its pitfalls won't be its downfall. The larger city tiles and offline mode will definitely be missed.

I'm going to miss being able to choose exactly which density, but oh well.

I don't like the density by road. That means that the CBD has to be all high capacity roads and if you want wide suburban roads, you will get High-rises popping up! Razz
