Anybody got the new Windows 8? Is it any good? Tell us the positives and Negative and tips for using it!

I've had it for 2 months, I quite like it now. It took me a week or so to get used to all the changes from Windows 7, but now I see no issues. I think games actually run better on Windows 8 than 7/Vista, I have had no issues with programs and compatibility, even with games which I couldn't get to work on 7.

I don't see why people seem to be hating on Windows 8; I'm fine with it.

Thats good to hear I want to enjoy the new Windows but ive been skeptical

I've had W8 for quite a while now and samerton kinda influenced me to change from Vista to W8 and I have no complaints at all.. There is hardly anything changed apart from the Start Menu which has changed into its own window. I think this is very nice and it isn't hard to get used to it.

The start screen doesn't work well with smaller monitors either. You have to scroll to see the whole thing, which I find a little on the annoying side. I think it has great potential, but just doesn't feel consistent enough for me.

I think it's a mistake for them to remove something that was very functional and replace it with something way uglier

Yes its trying to be a tablet...

I personally don't like it myself, its just something else to get used to. I think it would work out well for tablets, but not a desktop computer. If I must use windows 8, i'd be willing to though (because I don't like vista or 7 either :p)

Yea, I've seen some friends with it. I haven't played with it myself, though. May mean a trip to Future Shop...
It looks cool, but the common complaint is no start menu in the normal sense... though some are saying they get used to it fast.

Seeing as I've only been using W7 for about a year, I'm probably not upgrading soon...
