Welcome to Duwamish

Welcome to your guided tour of Duwamish, nicknamed the Green Republic. Thank you for landing at Dawson Municipal Airport, currently the only airport in Duwamish, that is until Project Airway is completed later this year. As you can see, the facilities are not quite modern and we are in need of relief.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 66375921

Here's a little map of Duwamish and a satillite view...d'oh!

Duwamish: The Green Republic 98961670

Let's take a tour of Dawson, the national capital. Here you see the 90,000-seat Dawson Stadium, constructed for the local DSL club. The DSL, or Duwamish Soccer League, is a league of 10 soccer teams around Duwamish.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 22700468

Here's some of the more suburban areas of Duwamish, full of medium-sized homes and the rare mansion.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 71737096

Let's cross over D3 (the local freeway) and head on over into Downtown. You can also see the local rail station that's sunken.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 36264333

Tada! A big skyscraper forest, second only to Kalama on the coast!

Duwamish: The Green Republic 54023320

Here's the Duwamish Capitol Building, housing the 64-member Senate and Supreme Court.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 50121317

The President of Duwamish, Bruce Martin, lives and works here at the James Estate.

Well, we've finally arrived in the Big Peninsula: Kalama. Let's take a tour of the city's sports stadiums, because landmarks are sooooo overated.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 21792043

Here's the University of Kalama, essentially a rival of the University of Dawson.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 67100487

A little southeast of the university sits the 80,000-seat Kalama Stadium, which serves soccer and American football.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 98914447

The university has its own stadium, the Koalas Stadium. The University's sports teams are named the Koalas.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 73080806

The Kalama Pumas play at the newer Pumas Ballpark, just east of Koalas Stadium. It has a wonderful view of the Kalama Bridge.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 20613462

North of Pumas Ballpark is the indoor Koalas Arena, also used by the University of Kalama.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 35799235

Time for some night shots! Let's start with Kalama Stadium...

Duwamish: The Green Republic 82704657

Now, Koalas Stadium at night...

Duwamish: The Green Republic 88158114

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the Ballpark and Arena at night, so here's a postcard!

Welcome to beautiful Goodwin, Duwamish, the industrial center of the Olympic Peninsula and is the place of residence for more than 90,000. Home to Goodwin Steel and Good Motors, they lead the world in green industries, such as electric plug-in cars and recycling used iron in steelworks.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 33817931

Let's take a tour and begin at Goodwin City Hall, built in 1911 when Olympic Steelworks moved from Port Angeles, Lower Columbia to the once sleepy town.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 53145969

Across Main Street is the heart of downtown, home to mom and pop stores of all sorts.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 17870390

Again across Main Street is Edward Goodwin High School, named after the town's founder in 1965, gradually adding on a gym, library and more classrooms. Next to the high school, is GGE (Goodwin General Electric) Park, home to the Goodwin Gorillas FC and several sports.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 17683358

Just north of GGE Park is a small tavern district, which takes influence from British architecture.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 35543340

Next to the drunken men, including your dad Wink, is the Goodwin Church of God, one of four Christian churches in the country. It also houses a small cemetery, which only buries important figures from town history.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 46298224

Nearby the church and taverns is Goodwin Technical College, which has taught new industries to young minds since 1998.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 20538810

A new park next to the college contains a tennis court where many residents come to relax.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 92405016

Across the street from the college is Krispy Kreme's first store in the country, opened in 1999.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 310y

North of downtown is an experimental "SkyFarm" that also doubles as an apple orchard.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 311x

Even further north is an industrial district, this area specifically used by Good Motors Company for manufacturing.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 312y

Goodwin Steel and other companies are located west, perfectly in line with winds so any smoke carries out to the ocean and far north towards Alaska.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 313d

West of downtown are the suburbs where everyone lives. They all enjoy the several elementary and middle schools nearby as well.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 314a

The Edward Goodwin Memorial Bridge connects Goodwin to Dawson over the Duwamish River.

Duwamish: The Green Republic 315

The newest addition to the city is the 28,000-capacity GSArena that opened on October 16th.

Also your use of custom content makes each picture unique with a different feature being shown every time. Also with cities like that, its ashame your using a maxis airport Crying or Very sad

I only updated so fast because this was version 1.0 of Duwamish. I'm relaunching it in June(ish) and it'll be better.

Thanks for the comments mayorm, also the airport was replaced with a CC one (see torch relay update).

Very Happy Well I don't think this would be classified as a vanilla DD. There is not a trace of original content in any of your pictures. Although that is one large stadium for a high school. I suggest using maybe a stadium that has a smaller sseating capacity like SCBa's Taylor Memorial Field which I believe is available at the stex

The large stadium in Goodwin was built for the whole city, not just the HS. It hosts a top-flight team from the highest level of soccer in the country.
